MAJESTIC ADVENTURE IN ANNAPURNA VALLEY WITH SARIBUNG PEAK CLIMBING
Saribung Peak Climbing is a part of the Damodar Himalayan Range and lies in the western part of Nepal. It is close to the Tibetan Border in the northern corner of the Upper Mustang Region. This peak summit lies at an altitude of 6345 M above sea level. On this trail, you will pass through the outer limits close to Tibet where rugged landscapes are. Ancient customs come together in very exclusive detail of lands elapsed by time. On this peak climbing, you will also enter into the two restricted regions of Upper Mustang and Manang. You will also visit the city of Forbidden Kingdom “Lo Manthang” and the Hidden Valley “Nar Phu Valley”.
Saribung Peak Climbing trek starts from Jomsom along with the spectacular Damodar Saribung traverse. From Mustang as we cross several high passes we will also crossSaribung La (5600m). After crossing Saribung la we visit the spiritual land of Nar Phu Valley full of Tibetan culture. This peak is also easy and with less technical support one can be part of it. This peak climbing is an easy one for experienced mountaineers. But it is demanding with the crossing of high passes like Saribung La and Kang La at over 5200- 5600 meters.
This peak climbing lets you experience a valley full of fantastic scenery. Simple diverse cultures and religions and experience wide topographical variation. Almost as all Annapurna region trek, it also includes stunning landscapes. Stretched arid rough terrain and glacier are some of the high Himalayan attractions. Itenerary
Upon arrival meet by Parikrama Treks representative and transfer to Hotel. You can enjoy the view of Pashupatinath while on the way to the hotel. Overnight stay at a hotel in KathmanduToday we will enjoy some of the UNESCO-listed world heritage sites of Kathmandu Valley. We will visit Boudhanath Stupa and Kathmandu Durbar Square. Later we will also visit Pashupatinath Temple. In the evening, you will meet with your climbing guide. All the climbers will get a short briefing about this trip. Note: While you are enjoying the cultural site we will collect your permits. We need to collect permits for Upper Mustang, Nar Phu Valley for this trip. Overnight stay at a hotel in KathmanduAfter Breakfast, we start our tour with a drive to Pokhara. You will drive along the bank of Trishuli and Gandaki River. Pokhara is a trekkerās paradise city where trekkers from all over the world meet. You can also get a glimpse of Annapurna and Machhapuchhre if weather permits. Once in Pokhara, you can enjoy the beautiful lake city. Overnight stay at a hotel in PokharaToday we catch a flight to Jomsom also known as the gateway to Mustang valley. The arid landscape and strong wind blowing will give you a different experience of Nepal. Our guide will introduce us to the remaining crew members. Later we begin our trek to Kagbeni. On this trek, we will visit the valley of World Deepest George Kali Gandaki. Along the way, we can visit the Bon Po Monastery. Kagbeni is a part of Lower Mustang with a mesmerizing view of Mount Dhauligiri. Upon reaching Kagbeni you can explore the ancient settlement and monastery. You can also enjoy the apple orchids on the way to Kagbeni. Overnight stay at a tea house in KagbeniToday we start our trek by entering the restricted land of the Upper Mustang. We get the permits checked and continue walking on the bank of Kali Gandaki River. If you are lucky you can also get a hand on fossilized Shaligram lying around the trail. Later we continue to Tangbe village and to Chhusang village. Lots do Mani walls and Chortens make this trail more valuable. You can also spot 16 caves above a tunnel, reflecting the age-old settlements of this area. Finally, we make it to a Tibetan Buddhist village called Chele. Overnight stay at teahouse in CheleToday we start our trek with an uphill hike to reach Ghiling. We will also cross Taklam La Pass at 3624 m and continue to Dajori La pass at 3735 m. On the way to Syangboche, you will notice prehistoric caves around Ramchung. Ghiling has a wide settlement and monasteries to visit. Overnight stay at a tea house in GhilingToday we begin with a steady climb to Jhaite village and crossing Nyi pass at 4010m. After this pass, we will reach the largest village of Lo Manthang called Ghami. We will also cross the second pass of the day called Tsarang la at 3870 m. Later will pass Drakamar village to reach Tsarang village. Tsarang is a place full of nomadic tribeās settlement of Tibetan people. You can take a short tour of the village and can visit 500 years old Tsarang Gompa. Overnight stay at a tea house in TsarangToday we will hike to the capital village of Upper Mustang called Lo Manthang. You can visit Ghar Gompa while following the Tsarang River. From there, take descend to the canyon to cross the Lo La pass at 3,950 m. You can enjoy amazing Annapurna I, Bhrikuti Peak, Tilicho Peak, and Damodar Kunda views. This Kingdom is full of Nomadic tribes of Tibetan people settlement. You can see mud bricks houses, Gompas, and the former kingās palace of Upper Mustang. Overnight stay at a tea house in Lo ManthangToday we will spend our day acclimatizing to the high altitude before our higher trek. Also, you can explore the unique sites of the upper Mustang. You can also visit four major temples of Lo valleys. Chode Gompa is the main monastery and Tubchen Gompa with a huge assembly hall for worshipers. You can further visit Jampa Lhakhang temple also called God House in Lo Manthang. Or visit Choprang Gompa which translates to New Gompa. Lo-Manthang also witnesses 3 days annual Tijio Festival. People from all around Mustang gather to celebrate the chronicle of Guru Rimpoche. This festival takes place in the courtyard of Kings Palace. Overnight stay at a tea house in Lo ManthangToday we leave Lo Manthang and cross Dhi La Pass at 3950 m to reach Yara. The trail will also take us to Dhi village where local grows certain crops in their land. We will witness caves on the high stones walls also known as the medical settlersā area. Overnight stay at a tea house in YaraToday's trail is quite shorter than other days as we follow the trail to Luri Cave Monastery. We take a short and steep climb to Luri. This monastery symbolizes the divines command from the deity of the 15th century. The decorative Mandela is beyond imagination with Chortens and relics. Overnight stay at tented camp in Luri GompaToday we will be forced against the strong winds to reach our destination. For about an hour we will take descent to the flat floor and later worship at Ghuma Thanti. We will also see lots of trekkers taking prayers before visiting Damodar Lake. Overnight stay at a tented camp in Ghuma ThantiToday's major highlight will be Damodar Lake for which we cross the high pass. We will cross the elevation of 5600 m to reach these pilgrimage sites of Hindu and Buddhists. Later we trek to Namta Khola and set a camp here. Overnight stay at a camp in Namta KholaToday we will hike to the Base camp of Saribung Peak. The day is challenging with a tricky turn with no tea house and lodges in the area. We take a packed lunch for today and enjoy the open landscape of the Himalayas. Today we will set a camp and spend a night in the Saribung Peak Base camp. Overnight stay at a tented camp in Base CampSince we are aiming for the top of Saribung Peak we take this day to acclimatize our bodies. We will also take some pre-climbing training for Saribung Peak. Our Guide will show some basic skills required for climbing, belaying, and rappelling. You will also learn to use other climbing equipment like a harness ice ax, crampons. Be sure to clear all the queries by asking to guide if any doubts. You can also hike to enjoy the magnificent beauties of Damodar and Annapurna Range. Overnight stay at a tented camp in Saribung Peak Base CampToday we will begin the climb from Base Camp to Camp I of Saribung. The trail follows past rocky and snowy terrain making it more challenging. We will pass on the east glacial side with ice blocks and to the western moraine to reach Camp I. You can enjoy the full display of Damodar Himal while enjoying lunch. We sleep early to start our early climb to Saribung Peak. Overnight stay at a tented camp in Camp IThis day is the most anticipated day of the entire trip as you will be conquering the summit of Saribung Peak. Early at around 1 am in morning we begin our climb. Since the mountain wind is unpredictable during the day it is the best time to conquer it. We being by climbing on the rocky terrain and steep slope and pass through the crevassed glacier. Ropes are already laid by our crew so it will be easier to reach peak summit. Once we reach the top we will have an astonishing view of the mountains around. Once can see Chhib Himal, Kharsang Peak, Gyajkhang, Bhrikuti and Himlung from the top. We take a picture and videos to capture this moment and later descend to base Camp. Overnight stay at a tented camp in Base CampToday, we will take a step down from the base camp of Saribung peak to enter Nagoru. We start with crossing the Saribung Pass at 5600 m and a quick descend following the trail of snow. After enjoying lunch we trek on alpine terrain to reach Nagoru. Overnight stay at a tented camp in NagoruToday you will find a drastic changes in the landscape. This huge Tibetan Landscape takes us to the village of Phu with full of Mountains views. You get to see the unique culture and heritage of ethnic Gurung, Ghale, and Lama. You can also explore the nomadic Tibetan tribeās settlement of the area. Once we get cozy in Phu Valley we can visit Tashi Lhakhang Monastery. it is also a final monastery among the 108 world's Buddhist monasteries. It relic Karmapa Rimpoche. Overnight stay at a tea house in Phu VillageAfter breakfast early in the morning, take a walk on the Tibetan Plateau and pass by the village gate. From there take descend to the narrow valley trailing along Phu river and reach Kyang. Along the way, you might spot Blue Sheep in the isolated region. Following a rocky path, you will head to Khampa settlements in Jhunam then Chyakhu. You will spot ruined forts here. It was once the settlement of Tibetan Refugees. Along the way, views of Annapurna II and Lamjung Himal will pop up to make the day even better. Take descend then reach Meta village. Overnight stay at a tea house in MetaToday we will walk to the restricted area of the Nar Phu valley on this day. Take a steep descent and trek to the lovely pine forest. Along with the views of Annapurna II, you will also enjoy Manaslu peak. Enjoy a warm, authentic dinner at Koto and interact with the locals. Overnight stay at a tea house in KotoYou will be heading to the greener landscape of Dharapani with many settlements. The trail from there gets a little rough as you descend to Danakyu village, where you can stop for lunch. Continue your walk through a flat trail until you reach Dharapani. Overnight stay at a tea house in DharapaniThis is your final trekking day for the trip as you move to Jagat. The route takes to descend to the Marsyangdi River by crossing an iron bridge. Cross the upstream of the river and head to Kotro. From the long thrilling suspension bridge over the river descend to Tal Village. The trail leads to a rocky path and into a dense forest until reaching Chyamche. There will be a lot of steep stone steps on this day. Impressive streams and large waterfalls will greet you. From thereon, continue your trek until you reach Jagat. Overnight stay at a tea house in JagatOn this day, bid farewell to the wonderful Annapurna region after the amazing trek and climb. After a short walk from a rocky trail to Syange and Bhulbule, take a ride back to Kathmandu city. Overnight stay at a hotel in KathmanduWe will say goodbye to the Himalayas of Nepal and take the next flight to another destination.Videos
